ARTICLE 29I MEDICAL CLINIC
The Article 29i Medical Clinic is not a physical
clinic but rather a system of comprehensive
medical services available through communitybased health centers in NYC and Westchester
County. Abbott House is one of these centers.
Services include primary care, screenings,
urgent care, psychiatric and mental health
services, psychological care, and diagnostic
services. All care is provided by our in-house
medical professionals and support staff.
Collaboration and follow-up care with referring
sub-specialist is also crucial when a child’s
medical situation becomes complex.

CHILD AND FAMILY
TREATMENT AND SUPPORT
SERVICES (CFTSS)
Children and Family Treatment and Support
Services (CFTSS) are part of the Early and
Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment
(EPSDT) benefits offered under Medicaid for
children under 21. The six services provided
through CFTSS include treatment by non-MD

These services are delivered in the home and
are available to any Medicaid-eligible child.
COMMUNITY RESIDENCE (CR)
The Community Residence (CR) in Pleasantville
provides coed, supervised, trauma-informed,
therapeutic group living for up to eight children
aged 9-15. This specialized environment
helps them develop positive coping skills
for a successful return home. The program
features clinical treatment from local providers,
a dedicated in-house team of social workers, a
recreation coordinator, a nurse, and specially
trained direct care staff. Children in the CR also
benefit from our close partnership with the
local school district to maximize their academic
achievement.
COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
RESOURCE PROGRAM
In partnership with the NYC Department of
Education, Abbott House runs a Community
School Resource Program that services two
elementary schools located in the Mount
Eden community of the Bronx, supporting 600
students. A Community School is not a physical

school staff, families, youth, and the community
to raise student achievement by ensuring that
children are physically, emotionally, and socially
