FIGHTING FOOD
INSECURITY:
Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation
awarded our Community Schools Resource
Program in the Bronx with a $3,000 grant to
expand our wellness pantry, ensuring that
after-school snacks, cooking demos and
workshops that promote healthier eating
habits and budget-friendly meal planning are
available to families and students of PS 211.
The Martin Bancroft Community Dinner
volunteers made sure more than 150 families
had complete Thanksgiving meals, lifting
the burden of food insecurity on struggling
families.

Abbott House programs and staff were
recognized in a public television story on
the Viewpoint Project with Dennis Quaid.
The episode, hosted by actor Dennis Quaid,
spotlighted our program for individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities
and celebrated our team’s expertise in
providing compassionate care to children,
families and adults with complex needs.
BRINGING TIDINGS OF
HOPE AT THE HOLIDAYS:

Abbott House
Easter-themed baskets filled with yummy
treats, widgets, stickers and stuffed animals
brought smiles to children aged 12 and under
in care. Major contributors included The
German International School, Fordham
Campus Ministry, Church of St. Paul the
Apostle, Briarcliff High School, and the
Families First Club.
More than 1,000 gifts poured in from
community friends and supporters during
our annual Holiday Gift Drive. Popular
items included Legos, Barbie dolls, Nike
gear, headphones, tablets and bicycles.
Every child, teen, and adult in care received
at least one item from their Wishlist. Major
contributors included Capital One, Memorial
Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Church
of St. Paul the Apostle, Irvington Youth
Basketball, Church of the Holy Family, BDT
& MSD Partners, and Bet Am Shalom.
