I entered Abbott House at the age of 15
and aged out at the age of 21. Throughout my time at
Abbott House, if it weren’t for the guidance of my social
worker and my independent living coach, I would not be
the person I am today. I am now a mother, a Social Worker
and an advocate for current and former foster youth.
Abbott House helped me realize that my life was more
than my past and my traumas. I now dedicate my life to
giving back to the foster care community and share my
story of resilience with foster youth, so that foster youth
can realize that they too have the power to re-write their
stories.”
